One hide, one piece
We buy hides whole and cut each piece from a single one, so the grain runs unbroken across the panels. It wastes more leather than panelling does. It is also the only way a piece ages evenly instead of in patches.
Care, honestly
Vegetable-tanned leather does not want conditioner every month. Keep it out of standing water, wipe it with a dry cloth, and let it darken. We will condition it for you once a year, free, at the workshop.
